What do we do?
LVA/Midyork provides materials and services to develop volunteer programs in Basic Literacy and English as a Second Language. Through our effort more then 100 volunteers work with more the 150 adult learners in our region.
Why is LVA's work soimportant?
The ability to read write and speak English is basic to living a full and free life in America. Adult literacy students gain independence as they are able to become full participants in society as informed, contributing citizens. The full development of each individual's potential goes hand in hand with strengthening our nation.
